Das Afrika Korp, North Africa, WW2

This German officer and NCO duo was inspired by an image (see below) of a squad of DAK fighters I found in my earlier research for this project. (Credit: zeiterweltkrieg.org)

Officer:

The officer figure was realised from a hodgepodge of kitbashed sources – DID for its excellent tunic, pants helmet, goggles, high canvas boots, MP40 ammo pouch, breadbag, canteen, grenade, pistol holder, mapcase, scarf, ring, medals and shirt; BBI for the torch, canvas Y-straps, motorcycle overcoat, insignias and DML for the pistol, bayonet and waist belt. The MP40 was from FacePool if my memory serves me right.

The DID tunic was extensively painted in acrylic to create a faded olive colour, then weathered with acrylic paste and pastel dust.
